How to choose a version
Most people should take the newest build at the top of the table. It tracks the latest official Spotify release, carries the current anti-ban layer, and gets the fixes the older ones miss. Reach for an older version only when you have a reason.
- A new build crashes or will not log in on your device. Drop back one release and see if the problem clears.
- Your phone runs an older Android version that a recent build dropped support for.
- A feature you rely on changed in the latest release and you want the previous behaviour.
Rolling back safely
To move to an older version, download it from the table, then install it over your current app. Android keeps your login and downloads as long as the build comes from the same source. If it refuses to install over a newer one, uninstall the current app first, then install the older APK. Your playlists live on your account, so nothing is lost in the swap.
What the version numbers mean
Spotify uses a four-part number like 9.0.84.1340. The first parts track the major and minor release, and the last part is the build. A higher number is a newer build. When you compare a version here against the one already on your phone, read left to right, and the larger number is the more recent release.
Always grab the newest build first
Older versions stay online for compatibility and rollback. The latest release has the current features, the newest anti-ban layer and the fixes.
